Port Grimaud is approximately 30km from the A8 autoroute and 1170km from Calais.
By Auto-Train and TGV
Our favourite way of getting to the apartment is to drive via the Channel Tunnel to Paris, drop the car onto the Auto-Train at Paris Bercy Station, spend a night in Paris and then catch the TGV the following morning for a very fast and relaxing train journey to Toulon (about 3:45hr journey) where we are reunited with our car for the 60 minute drive to Port Grimaud and then the same in reverse for the return. A most relaxing way of getting there and not much more expensive than flying and hiring a car. You get two nights in Paris, avoid tolls and traffic jams and have none of those early morning airport check-ins. Let us know if you would like some details as the frequency of the auto trains are seasonal. http://autotrain.uk.voyages-sncf.com/en/
As an alternative to using the Autotrain in order to take our car with us, we sometimes drive to Paris and leave our car parked at Gare de Lyon train station, then catching the TGV train to Toulon and hiring a car from there.
To Nice Airport (approx. 95km from Port Grimaud - 1:15hr drive if no traffic).
To Toulon/Hyères (approx. 50km from Port Grimaud).
Cars may be hired at either airport.
By Bus from the airport
There is a bus terminal at the airport where you can catch a bus to St Raphael. From there you can catch another bus to Port Grimaud,
or take a taxi the rest of the way.
The nearest railway stations are at Toulon and Frejus/St.Raphael. You can then travel by bus or taxi the rest of the way to Port Grimaud if you are not using the auto-train service.
There are local english speaking taxi services, who (based on 2019 prices) charge about 160 euros each way from Nice airport to Port Grimaud, or around 95 euros from the train station at St.Raphael to Port Grimaud.
